What Roseau will and will not do

Private beta · iPhone

Before you connect mail — or decide this is not another chat box — here is what Roseau will do, and where it stops.

How is this different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a box you open when you remember to ask. Roseau is built to brief you before that. Chat is a door into the day. The product is a timeline: records, briefs, and standing services.

It shows the evidence behind a suggestion, helps you think, and does not decide for you. The last click stays human. There is more on this in A personal AI shouldn’t wait for you to remember.

Does it connect to Gmail and Google Calendar?

Yes, if you connect them. You do not have to. Notes and the timeline still work without Gmail or Calendar.

It does not replace Gmail or Calendar. The originals stay in those apps. When connected, Roseau reads a bounded window — sender, subject, time, and a snippet — to prepare briefs. It is not a copy of your mailbox.

Do you train on my mail or calendar?

We do not train Roseau’s own models on your content. That is the default for every account, not an opt-out. Where providers offer training controls, we require them.

Authorized Gmail and Calendar text is processed on our servers as bounded excerpts, for briefs and memory you can inspect — not “read on the phone and discarded.” The full picture is on Privacy.

Will it send mail or change my calendar without me?

Sending email waits for your confirmation. Background calendar suggestions, events with invitees, and writes to other connected apps still wait. A calendar event you clearly asked to create in the app can be written in that turn when the fields are complete.

Noticing is not a license to execute. If nothing needs you, it stays quiet. A standing service interrupts only for what you already allowed.

Is it only on iPhone?

Yes, for now. Private beta, iPhone only. There is no Android app, and it is not in the public App Store. Join the waitlist. We write when a place opens. Pricing is not public during the beta.
