Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

Roseau is an AI assistant app designed to help users record, reflect, and act on personal context. This Privacy Policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and how users can request access, export, or deletion.

Service Availability

Roseau v1.0 beta is offered for global regions excluding mainland China.

Using Simplified Chinese in the app is a language preference only. It does not mean Roseau uses mainland China infrastructure, mainland China compliance routing, or mainland China-specific service providers.

Data We Process

Depending on how you use Roseau, we may process:

  • Account information required to sign in and operate the service.
  • User-created timeline records.
  • Chat messages and assistant replies.
  • User-approved memory cells and profile summaries.
  • User-created services and service parameters.
  • Push notification metadata.
  • Service execution logs needed for debugging and explainability.
  • Optional integration data from services explicitly connected by the user, such as Google, Gmail, Calendar, or Notion.

Roseau does not access optional integrations unless the user explicitly connects them.

AI Processing

Roseau uses third-party model and embedding providers to generate assistant responses, extract memory, classify context, and power semantic search.

Current or configurable providers may include:

  • DeepSeek
  • OpenRouter
  • OpenRouter embedding paths
  • Alibaba Cloud DashScope embeddings, if explicitly configured

Book, movie, and music enrichment is disabled by default in the v1.0 global beta. Roseau does not rely on NeoDB enrichment unless the feature is explicitly enabled in a future release.

Data Retention

Roseau retains data only as needed to operate the service, support user-requested functionality, and maintain decision explainability.

Draft retention schedule:

  • Chat history: retained while the account is active, unless the user deletes the account or requests deletion.
  • Timeline records: retained while the account is active, unless deleted by the user or removed through account deletion.
  • MemCells and LivingProfile summaries: retained while the account is active, unless deleted by the user or removed through account deletion.
  • Push logs and delivery metadata: retained only as needed for service operation and debugging.
  • Service execution logs: retained as needed to explain decisions and debug service behavior.

User Rights

Users can:

  • Export local records directly from the in-app Privacy & Data page.
  • Request cloud data export by emailing [email protected].
  • Request account and cloud data deletion by emailing [email protected].
  • Contact Roseau about privacy questions.

Privacy contact: [email protected]

During the v1.0 beta, cloud export and deletion requests are handled manually through the privacy mailbox. We aim to respond within 30 days. Fully automated cloud export and deletion endpoints are planned for a later release.

Email Contact

For general feedback, contact: [email protected]

For privacy, data export, or account deletion requests, contact: [email protected]

During the beta, these addresses may be routed through Cloudflare Email Routing to the operating owner inbox.

Subprocessors

Roseau may use the following subprocessors to operate the service:

  • Supabase: database, Edge Functions, storage, and authentication-related backend infrastructure.
  • Apple APNs: push notification delivery.
  • Google OAuth, Gmail, and Calendar APIs: optional user-authorized integrations.
  • OpenRouter: LLM access when configured.
  • DeepSeek: LLM access when configured.
  • OpenRouter Embeddings: default embedding provider until another provider is configured.
  • Alibaba Cloud DashScope: optional embedding provider when explicitly configured.
  • Tavily: web search tool when invoked.
  • Notion: optional user-authorized integration.
  • Cloudflare: DNS and email routing for Roseau domains.

The active set of subprocessors may vary depending on enabled features and user-authorized integrations.

Mainland China

Roseau v1.0 does not provide a mainland China service offering.

Mainland China deployment, filings, domestic cloud infrastructure, domestic model provider routing, and China-specific compliance work are treated as a separate future project.
